Mr. Rafael Ybarra of Morris, Illinois, son of the late Ysidro Ybarra and Rafaela Castillo Ybarra, was born on December 12, 1950 in La Grulla, Texas. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at his daughter’s residence in Greensburg, Kentucky having attained the age of 72 years, seven months and six days.
He was of the Catholic faith and retired from Ryder Systems. Mr. Ybarra was well-known for his random acts of kindness that touched the lives of many.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Sylvia and Mitchell Curry of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Evan Curry, Dylan Curry, Madelyn Curry, Brittany Curry and Amber Curry; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Roel Ybarra, and one sister, Flora Warner.
The funeral services for Rafael Ybarra will be conducted at 4 P.M., Central Time, on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Gupton - Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Kessler Cemetery. Bro. Jason Hood officiating.
Visitation is requested after 2 P.M., Central Time, on Saturday until the time of the service.
Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to Life Bridge for Animals, which can be made at the funeral home.
